Want to know of the few activities you could do before you catch your flight at Lanseria Airport?
Here are a couple of suggestions:
De Wildt Cheetah Sanctuary
Are you a lover of animals, wild and tame alike? How about you, check out De Wildt Cheetah Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located on the foothills of Magaliesberg, close to Brits and the Hartebeesport Dam. That is 45km from the Lanseria Airport.
The sanctuary’s breeding programme, which began in 1971, has played an important role in the survival of the Cheetah in South Africa.
It is not only a sanctuary for the Cheetah, but it has successfully bred African Wild Dog, Brown Hyena and the Cape Vulture. There are three guided tours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However it is open every day of the week and on public holidays.
Too far..? Fear not, here is another suggestion. The Lion Park is located between Fourways Mall and Lanseria Airport. You can go on a guided game drive through their simple, yet enjoyable routes.
The park houses over eighty (80) Lions, including a number of rare White Lions. The cub world allows you to interact with Lion cubs and feed the Giraffes.
They have the longest Mono-cableway in Africa, right after the Table Mountain Cableway. Interesting…..
It is the ideal alternative for travellers looking for a relaxed nature trip in Gauteng, offering wide views of the alluring Magaliesberg Mountains. You will enjoy the mountain walks or you can relax in the shopping and dining areas. You have children, great, there’s a KidZone play area.
You must be thinking a mall? Well yes the mall. Fourways Mall is located just 17km from the Lanseria Airport.
It has some great restaurants, hair salons and a movie hall. So whilst you’re killing time, stock up on some toiletries grab a bite to eat or go to the salon and get your hair done and some last minute gift shopping.
