South Africa is possibly one of the best destinations for international and local travellers alike.
It’s beautiful, has a lot to offer and is extremely affordable to the international market.
At Megacoach, we’ve seen the country in its entirety and have taken several groups to their preferred destinations.
Here are some group trip ideas you might want to consider.
Home of Hartebeespoort Dam and Sun City, the North West province is a goldmine of adventure waiting to be explored. Not only will you be able to see some of the Big Five at several safari lodges, but you will also be able to enjoy various activities that can’t necessarily be experienced anywhere else. Some of the attractions include Sun City (home to a world-class casino and golf course and a one-of-a-kind man-made sea), Hartebeespoort Dam (surrounded by various lodges and attractions such as a fully organic shopping centre at the foot of a large windmill, snake and reptile parks, markets and more) and many safari destinations. This is the perfect destination when travelling by coach or bus.
There are too many attractions to visit in Gauteng to mention here, but a group tour to this lively province is a must. Attractions include Soweto (hometown of former South African President, Nelson Mandela which offers bungee jumping, several historic/ educational tours, an Apartheid Museum and much more), Johannesburg (which boasts attractions such as Gold Reef City, several nightlife destinations and magical CBD suburbs, craft beer brewery tours, live music venues, luxury shopping centres and more), Cradle of Human Kind (Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng) and several unique restaurants. Many groups opt for coach and bus travel to tour this province as it can easily access all of the mentioned attractions.
If you are looking to be surrounded by raw nature and cultural atmospheres, Mpumalanga and Limpopo are great provinces to visit. Here you would find the Blyde River Canyon, the Long Tom Pass, Chimp Eden, several majestic waterfalls and one of the biggest attractions, the Kruger National Park. Be sure to read up on these areas for a full list of tourist attractions.
South Africa’s Western Cape has a completely different feel to the rest of the country. People there are relaxed, architecture is of another class and tourists are accommodated on the highest level possible. Some of the most popular attractions here are Table Mountain, Robben Island (where the late former President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned), Kirstenbosch National Botanic Gardens, Two Oceans Aquarium, Signal Hill and the stunning Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Several unique restaurants and fresh seafood outlets can be found scattered all around the province. If your trip exceeds a week, try to fit in some of the smaller towns such as Hermanus (whale watching) and Gansbaai (the Great White capital of the world).
As you can see coach and bus travel is a great way to explore these destinations. Luckily, Megacoach offers affordable yet comfortable transport for touring groups. To enquire on our rates and services, be sure to contact us.
